If you are interested in social design, experiments with technology and media in public space and you do not mind to join us in baking muffins once in a while, then read what you need to do to apply after the break…

Call for projects for the Community lovers guide to Genk-Hasselt [dutch]

Posted by Katrien on Wednesday October 12th 2011 at 10:02

- afkomstig zijn uit de regio Genk of Hasselt;
- uitgaan van een persoon, of een groep personen, eerder dan van een organisatie (kleine organisaties kunnen nog in overweging genomen worden);
- een creatieve, en liefst hands-on, aanpak uitdragen;
- de lokale omgeving willen verbeteren of mensen met elkaar in contact brengen;
- andere mensen betrekken of ervaringen delen met anderen;

AT]khlim.be of katrien.dreessen[AT]khlim.be

Umbrellas in a rainy country. The Belgian eidition of the Sustainable Summer School

Posted by Liesbeth on Monday October 10th 2011 at 09:05

For the first time, the Canadian Institute Without Boundaries, a cross-disciplinary educational program in sustainable design, organised a Sustainable Summer School in Belgium. Together with local design organisations, like Recentre, Z33, Flanders District of Creativity and MAD Faculty, they chose a peaceful green location in Limburg. Here an international group of design professionals gathered to brainstorm and work around certain subtopics in sustainable design, like water, food and public space. Around every subtopic a design team was formed, linked to two moderators and three external experts.
