MAP-it
09.2007 – 04.2011
The project “MAP-it”, funded by the Institute for Research in the Arts (IvOK), is a mapping toolkit and method that can be used to facilitate participatory creation processes.
It is a low-tech mapping system, an open and extendible set of icons (people, tools, activities and also a series of ‘strange and playful objects) that allows participants to make their thoughts explicit in a visual way. The set is a result of a long term research process, has been tested in various contexts and has lead to various reflective adaptations and international publications. The physical toolkit will be made available in a digital way, on a web platform from where the mapping icons can be downloaded and to which adapted sets can be uploaded.
