Ben Hagenaars
Ben Hagenaars graduated as a master in productdesign at the MAD-faculty in Genk. Additionally he gained a post-graduate degree in packaging design at Sint-Lucas Gent. In 2010 he executed his master project Animation Vegetation, a project on public interaction and urban green space, in the city of Hasselt. He gained experience as a designer in studio Pure Sang in Antwerp and with design agency Tjep in Amsterdam. He is also active in the development of Resource Lab a project on redesigning existing object and materials using open-source tools.
He’s currently working as a designer/researcher on his PhD project Cultivating Communities. The aim of the project is to create an open source network of school gardens in Limburg, which highlights the social and sustainable benefits of community-based agriculture.
