The ACM conference on Designing Interactive Systems (DIS) welcomes submissions (papers, workshops, demonstrations, …)  from a broad range of researchers and practitioners within the field of interactive systems design research and practice.

DIS 2012 encourages submissions that consider the following:

- Contexts: Places, people, communities, events, and phenomena
- Values: Experience, aesthetics, engagement, empowerment, health, wellbeing,
designing things that matter, sustainability, and diversity
- Processes: Methods tools and techniques for engaging people, researching
and designing, and co-designing interactive systems.
-Technologies: Sensors and actuators, mobile devices, multi touch and
touchless interaction, social media, personal, community, and public displays

The 2nd International Conference on Design Creativity (ICDC 2012) will take place on 18-20.09.2012 in Glasgow, Scotland and welcomes papers on following themes:

Open, participative cities: how design knowledge can support public services in the development of open, participative human environment”
The Cumulus conference, interlinked in the World Design Capital Helsinki 2012, is organized in the premises of Aalto University, in the School of Art and Design, Helsinki, Finland and in the neighboring city of Espoo.

Human Cities, a European network that groups scientific and cultural partners involved in research and information on spatial, social and political innovation related to the production of public space in contemporary cities, organises a symposium with the title ”Civil society reclaims public space. Cross perspectives based on research”. This symposium is organized as part of the second festival of the Human Cities network and will be held in Brussels from 15 until 31 March 2012.
The deadline for proposals that are directly related to civil society initiatives that target “reclaiming” public space in contemporary cities is 14 october.
